Finally, Mas Selamat has been caught after being on the run for so long. According to sources, he has been caught in Malaysia. I am writing this at 2am in the morning now, I believe the headlines across Singapore newspapers later today will be mostly on this piece of news, the capture of Mas Selamat.
I hope this is true, because I think it will be safer for mankind if Mas Selamat is under detention, rather than having him plotting new terror attacks on the innocent.
Now I wonder how did Mas Selamat escape Singapore to other countries… hmm…

So, you are using emails in the office huh?
Forget about the typical and boring automatic email replies such as:
“I am out of office now. WIll reply to your email when I return to office.”
Here is a list of interesting ones, try them out if you dare!
1. I am currently out at a job interview and will reply to you if I fail to get the position. I may be a little moody so be prepared.
2. You are receiving this automatic notification because I am out of the office. If I was in, chances are you wouldn’t have received anything at all.
3. Sorry to have missed you, but I am at the doctor’s having my brain removed so I can be promoted to our management team.
4. I will be unable to delete all the unread, worthless emails you send me until I return from vacation on 4/18. Please be patient, and your mail will be deleted in the order it was received.
5. Thank you for your email. Your credit card has been charged $5.99 for the first 10 words and $1.99 for each additional word in your message.
6. The e-mail server is unable to verify your server connection and is unable to deliver this message. Please restart your computer and try sending again.
( The beauty of this is that when you return, you can see how many in-duh-viduals did this over and over.)
7. Thank you for your message, which has been added to a queuing system.
You are currently in 352nd place, and can expect to receive a reply in approximately 19 weeks.
8. Hi, I’m thinking about what you’ve just sent me. Please wait by your PC for my response.
9. I’ve run away to join a different circus.
10. I will be out of the office for the next 2 weeks for medical reasons. When I return, please refer to me as ” Sharon ” instead of “Steve”.

If you are a Starhub mobile phone user, sorry to disappoint you with this piece of news…
When Singtel launched the IPhone in Singapore few months ago, the other local telcos (Starhub and M1) are saying that they will be selling the 3G Apple Iphone by the end of the year December 2008.
Nevertheless Starhub has announced in November 2008 on the newpapers that their IPhone launch will be delayed. This is bad news for many people because I know a lot of people are waiting for the 3G Iphone to be launched in Singapore by the other telcos..
I intend to get mine in March 2009 when I can recontract my Starhub mobile line.
Few years ago, I would have jumped on the bandwagon as soon as the Iphone is being launched in Singapore… Nevertheless I have learned to master the art of not satisfying my instant gratification if I want to retire by age 40… I am a slower starter in my financial literacy training, if not, I would have set my retirement age at 32 or 35.
I think I should be able to get the Apple Iphone at least for a 50% discount when Starhub launches it by redeeming my Starhub Rewards Points for a $150 to $200 voucher. On top of that, I think I will write in to request for a phone voucher for my phone line recontract…
Why pay more when you can get it less, or for free??

It’s sad to hear of the bad news that our fellow Singaporean, Ms Lo Hoei Yen, a lady lawyer, has been killed in the Mumbai terrorist attacks!
She was the first Singaporean to be killed by the terrorists, and she was just 28 years old. Her body has been identified by her hubby.
She was apparently found dead on the 19th floor of the hotel that she was staying in.
My condolences goes to her and her family, as well as all her friends and fellow Singaporeans.
These terrorists are really coward, all brain-washed to kill the innocents while justifying their own crimes and actions with their own ridiculous and unworthy cause!

For those Apple 3G IPhone fans, here’s the official good news:
Singtel has confirmed Apple 3G IPhone launch to be on 22 Aug 2008, Friday.
Those who pre-order online with Singtel will be the first to get their hands on the new handset. Currently there are already tens of thousands of pre-orders with Singtel.
Starhub and M1 will carry the new Apple 3G IPhone before the year end.
Everyone will be carrying a 3G IPhone on the streets pretty soon, so there is no hurry to get one right, since you are not going to be the exclusive one holding it. IMHO, 3G IPhone will start to flood the Singapore streets just like the previous Razr V3 from Motorola, very soon.
Some countries’ telcos are offering the 3G IPhone for free when you sign up the highest data/voice plan with the respective telcos.

News are out that Singtel will launch Apple IPhone in Singapore by end of August. Although Singtel declined to comment on the actual date of the Apple IPhone, my guess is that it will be on 22 Aug 2008 because previously Apple has announced that it plans to roll out IPhone across many more countries on the date 22 Aug 2008.
All telcos will be offering the Apple IPhone by end of 2008 I guess. I will get one for myself in March 2009 when I can renew my yearly contract with Starhub.
If you are a person who like to go for exclusivity, I think you will be disappointed when you get a IPhone for yourself because in no time, you will see the streets flooded with people using the IPhone.
Looking at what Steve Job and his team presented lately during the Developers Conference about the new IPhone, the 3G IPhone will definitely enjoy much bigger successes than its previous first-generation IPhone, not just on the consumer market, but surely on the Enterprise/Corporate environment.
Times ahead are exciting for Apple IPhone as the Apple IPhone becomes one of the 3 core pillars (Mac, Ipod, IPhone) of Apple’s phenomenal successes.

If you love going to the movies in Singapore, I am sure you have came across this hilarious ad before the start of your movie show. The purpose of this ad is to make you laugh and of course, not forgetting the important message behind the ad, that is:
Switch off your mobile phones while you are in the cinema so as not to be a source of disturbance and annoyance to other movie viewers.
The clip is also a great way to promote one of the most popular movies in Singapore: Money No Enough 2
Enjoy the clip here:

I was just finishing up my last blog post about a few minutes ago regarding my bad experience with Nike before I hit the Publish button to publish my latest post.
Nothing to do at this hour (6.40am Singapore time), I went to Google.com again and search for Nike’s global running event on 31.08.2008.
To my surprise, my latest blog post which was just published a few minutes ago was already indexed on Google search results. It was ranked number 5th. My earlier blog post about Nike Human Race event was ranked number 4th. (See my screenshot below)

While getting top rankings for my various online projects are nothing new to me, I am just quite amazed at how fast Google spiders are indexing my web pages.
Like what my Internet Millionaire mentor told me, blogs are great ways for fast search engines rankings! Now I really see the true power of blogs!
Also, looking at my own traffic logs for this blog now, apparently a lot of searchers are finding my singaporelifestyle blog when they are searching for Nike’s 31.08.2008 run event.
So my conservative estimates about the number of readers reading about my bad experience with Nike will easily be in the range of hundreds, if not thousands.
Talking about this, I remembered another incident with another local start up company last year (company name to be withheld). This new startup is supposed to pay me my due commissions after I marketed and sold their products online for them and made myself a few hundred dollars. Despite numerous emails back and forth with their company staff for weeks about my commissions which they said they are going to send, but the cheque never came.
Eventually I ran out of my patience, and so I warned people about this company at an online blog.
Surprisingly, just a couple of days later, their staff called me up for a meeting to pass me my commission cheque as well as to meet with their Vice President (also the owner of the firm).
I am happy with this outcome and I also learned an important lesson here.
“Beware of your reputation online, it may make or break your business.”
You can quote me above. ![]()
